Needless to say, I had a blast with this one!
Meet our before space
This home is a Spanish Rancher built a few decades ago. The bones are solid but in working with average height ceilings there is always a challenge in making the space feel bigger and brighter! Our main goal with this one was to open things up, create a more inviting space to entertain and inject subtle color to compliment the neutral remodeled kitchen.
Some of my favorite moments in this space
Graphic and LARGE Ikea rug (a steal at double the price $69)
Gray knit pouf & pillow stack, perfect for entertaining and floor lounging
White porcelain chess piece, it says, "I'm glamorous and smart"!
Hefty wire bookshelves, enough for storage and accessorizing but does not take over the space
Mirrors, need I say more? I can see the whole block in those things!
We shifted the entire focus of the space from one wall to the other to correct the oversized sofa from taking over the intimate space. We also brought life back to the side by side windows flanking the small wall space in the center of the room by placing the TV between them. These small furniture changes allow you to notice the architectural details and feel the open space of this entire side of the home.
Cheers to Erin, Denton and their new Family Room!
