INTRODUCING THELIFESTYLEDCO® X MITZI
I’m thrilled to finally introduce to you a little something that’s been in the works for the last FOUR YEARS! My very own lighting collection with Mitzi is here and available for you to SHOP NOW!
My designs have always been intrinsically connected to lighting, and even very early in my career when I may not have been as confident in say wallpaper or custom furniture, I’ve always had a strong pull and confidence with lighting! Specifying lighting is truly one of my most favorite parts of the design process so when Mitzi called, I quite literally JUMPED at the opportunity to collaborate!
I came back to our Design Offices and shared the exciting news with our Design and Marketing Teams and we immediately began pulling together concepts behind what this collaboration could look like! Overall, everything we do comes back to our trademarked aesthetic, Organic Desert Living® – it’s what grounds us and guides through our design evolution. Early in the inspiration phase we found loose materials like tiles and natural stones, textural elements and layered neutrals very prevalent… we also kept presenting problems we’d found while specifying for past projects in the lighting category, like a picture light that had hard lines and an edgier silhouette, to an oversized textural funnel that could signal outdoor rusticity while being hung over an indoor dining table.
Throughout the process, which began early in 2020, we’d sketch and design, then receive and refine, over and over in partnership with the team at Mitzi, until each piece felt complete.
Much of my career has been spent surrounded by an incredible team, so when it came time to name each fixture, I didn’t have to look very far… all eleven pieces are named after inspirational and dynamic females in my life from my mother, my original muse, Danna, to the two most playful and youthful fixtures after my daughters, Harper Rose and Sutter Ann and finally, after the team that has helped make this collection comes to life. I am enamored with the talent, generosity and dedication that our team demonstrates every single day and having their names permanently placed in this journey with me felt as natural as their presence in our studio every single day!
This collection is filled with pieces in almost every lighting category from decorative lighting to task lighting, and can be used independently or as a combination within a design scheme.
