Calling all design babes (OR beaus!!) THE LifeStyled COMPANY design team is growing and looking to hire a Design Associate! If you’re a college graduate with a degree in interior design, or a related field, listen up! This could be your dream job!

We’re looking for someone who is highly motivated, has an impressive eye for design, a clear understanding of our aesthetic “Organic Desert Living,” and isn’t afraid to hit the ground running from day 1. Not only will you assist our lead designers in all aspects of our design process, but you will be trained by some of the best in the biz to eventually manage projects of your own.

This position will start out hourly, with the potential to go salary (and added perks!) after probationary period.

TITLE: Design Associate

THE MUST HAVES:

  • Priority #1: LOVE THE LifeStyled COMPANY

  • Design Degree or degree in related field required

  • Team player in all areas (you can teach SketchUp, but you can’t teach personality!!)

  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced working environment (AND especially keep up with Barbs, Blanche and Rach!)

  • Know your way around an IKEA, be willing to make returns, and maybe even make more than one trip in a day (to return the pillow inserts you bought when you accidentally got the wrong ones).

  • Thick skin and a willingness to learn - it’s nothing personal, just business baby!

  • Some formal design experience a plus, but not required!

JOB DESCRIPTION, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • DESIGN:

    • Work with clients to design or renovate spaces to meet their standards, with the overall direction of Kristen Forgione, Creative Director and Principal.

    • Assist lead designers on all new client projects including builds, renovations, and interior styling. Enhance the function, safety, and aesthetics of interior spaces.

    • Work with vendors on the selection of pieces and negotiate prices.

    • Read and interpret floor plans, blueprints and elevations.

    • Select samples, including flooring, carpet, color palettes, and paint to be approved by client. Plan architectural detail such as wood treatments and built-in bookshelves.

    • Supervise installs onsite, decorating, placement of accessories on deck for Principal placement.

  • PROJECT MANAGEMENT:

    • Assist lead designers in project management including but not limited to client communication, billing, budgeting, schedules/appointments, sourcing, pickups, etc.  

    • Assist lead designers in sourcing product, ordering and making returns as needed.

    • Travel to showrooms to gather samples and create relationships with reps.

    • Manage client communication and logistics.

    • Coordinate and schedule trades (paint, tile, demo, flooring, electrical, handymen, etc.), meetings, site walks and client installs.

  • OTHER:

    • Utilize applications like SketchUp and/or AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and Excel.

    • Create, execute and manage photoshoots.

    • Must have own laptop computer.

    • Some travel may be required.

    • Able to lift 50 pounds, reliable transportation, work independently.
